Fresh Ideas on Cleaning Vertical Blinds

Having problems cleaning your vertical blinds? Well, below are some of the ideas on cleaning vertical blinds that have been suggested by people around the world. However a word of caution before you try any of the vertical blinds cleaning methods below, please try it at your own risk. Maybe it will be a better idea to try the suggestions below on some older vertical blinds first. Most of the ideas below work best for fabric vertical blinds but of course I will like to reiterate, please be careful!!

The easiest method in cleaning vertical blinds is take the blinds down, and hang on the fence. Put some ammonia and detergent in dishpan with warm water. Use large floor type scrub brush and brush them with this sudsy mixture, and squirt off with garden hose until fully rinsed. Wait about 1 hour until the vertical blinds are mostly dry and re-hang.

For fabric vertical blinds, take the blinds off the top hooks, place them on top of each other as you remove each one. Place the vertical blinds into the washing machine. Fill with cold water. Use light liquid soap, depending on the fabric of your vertical blinds. Let the vertical blinds soak for a while. Use the delicate cycle for a short time while watching over it. Do not use a regular cycle as this may fray the fabric of the vertical blinds. Put through the spin cycle twice or as needed and hang your clean fabric vertical blinds to dry.

For dirt and pet hair on vertical blinds, Itry to use a natural enzyme spray found in the pet section of a store. Spray both sides of the blind (if they are not lined) wait a day to let dry then vacuum. The enzyme sprays to work well on a lot of stains around the house. For the new vinyl vertical blinds, try to use the wet swifter sheets to wipe dust, dirt and grime off.

For those of you who has a bathtub, mixed a solution of laundry detergent and bleach in the bathtub with hot water. Then take 1 or 2 blinds down at a time and put them to soak. After about 10-15 minutes of soaking, lightly scrub with a rag or soft brush. Then rinse and let the vertical blinds dry.
